Water Intake Reference Handout

$1.00

Do you ever wonder how much fluid a patient should be taking in based on the current CDC guidelines? Well, the reality is that there are many factors to consider when looking at water intake. Age, gender, and pregnancy status all play major roles in determining how much water a person should consume in a day. This chart summarizes the Dietary Reference Intake for Water as found on the CDC website.

Keep in mind that this document is NOT one-size-fits-all and that individual patient characteristics and diagnoses may affect how much fluid they are supposed to consume in a day. This chart is not intended to replace medical supervision. For any questions about how much fluid you should consume per day, please refer to a physician for guidance.

As always, Dysphagia Outreach Project is 100% volunteer run and 100% of the proceeds of this purchase goes to support our cause by providing financial support for operations, shipping, and purchasing supplies for our recipients.
